My recent escape to Gasthof Engelberg was nothing short of magical! Nestled in the serene hills of Scharnachtal, the hotel offered astonishing views of the snow-capped Niesen Mountain right from our balcony-perfect for a couple of marine biologists seeking a peaceful retreat. The family-run atmosphere created a warm vibe, and we couldn't get enough of the sumptuous breakfast featuring homemade cakes and local produce. It felt like a taste of Switzerland right in the heart of nature! The hiking trails beckoned us to explore, and after long days of adventure, we savored a delightful dinner at the on-site restaurant that highlighted international flavors. With friendly staff and cozy rooms, I was in total relaxation mode. I had planned a brief stay, but trust me, I'm already plotting my next visit to this hidden gem to indulge in all that it has to offer!
